Can I deduct damage costs to my home?

No.  Repairs to your own residence are not deductible.  Save all of your records for someday when you sell the house.  If there was undisclosed damage or defects in the house, then you may want to pursue legal action against the seller.

No, you cannot deduct the repair costs.  Instead they are added to the basis of your property to reduce the capital gain when you sell in the future.
