Can I claim a home office deduction on my Schedule C for my side-LLC if I became unemployed from my day job in April and have been receiving NYS unemployment and PUA?

I had a salaried day job, and was laid off in April.  Around the same time, my side-hustle business dried up (I had been doing freelance marketing for a local business that closed its doors).  I've maintained a lot of the stuff my side-hustle needs -- a fast internet connection, a dedicated office in my home, the website, etc. Can I still write off my home office on my Schedule C?

Yes you can as long as you are trying to make money from this side gig such as looking for more work in this field.  If you have stopped altogether and closed the business then you can only claim the expenses until the business closes.

So long as the business is active and you are actively pursuing new clients (I.e.;, still trying to maintain and grow the business) then no problem. This as absolutely nothing to do with your W-2 day job, or being laid off.
