In 2023 my employer contributed $1,700 to my dependent care FSA, I contributed the remaining $3,300 to max the account out at $5,000. We have one child under age 2 and both have w2 income. We are getting $0 for the dependent care credit. Should box 10 on my w2 be $5000? or $1,700?
In previous years they have reported $0 in box 10.

If your employer has $1,700 it should be in Box 10 of your W2, you can use this as dependent care benefits. You must complete the child and dependent care section for it to be tax free and you must have spent that much in child care. Use the link below to enter your child care expenses.
Dependent care benefits. Be sure to enter the amount you paid for your child, including your payments if they are not on the W-2.
If you received any dependent care benefits from your employer during the year, you may be able to exclude all or part of them from your income. You must complete Form 2441, Part III, before you can figure the amount of your credit.
If they have not completed the W-2 correctly you may wish to ask them to send a W-2C to the IRS to include your dependent care benefits.
Box 10 should be $5000.
You are correct, you do you qualify for the Dependent Care Credit. You have already received $5000 of tax benefits, which reduces the $3000 maximum down to $0 for the Dependent Care Credit.
