Auto Car Registration Deductibility

I live in Ohio. I purchased a car in Michigan. Are any of the registration fees deductible? Michigan and Ohio have a partial reciprocal registration agreement. In Michigan registration fees are deductible, in Ohio they are not. Thanks.

You will have to see how much of the Michigan registration is based on the car's value. Only an ad valorem tax is deductible (i.e. a tax based on the value).

I would think that if any of the car's registration is tax-deductible (you may need to call your local tax assessor-collector to find out), that you should be able to deduct it on Schedule A.
