Are property taxes always listed on the 1098?

My 1098 for my mortgage is not reflecting property taxes paid however my tax statement with the county shows 2021 taxes paid.  Can I use my county tax assessor's statement to determine my property taxes paid?

No they are not necessarily listed on your 1098 and Yes, you can use your county tax statement to find the amount you paid in property tax.   They are only on the 1098 if you pay them through an escrow account.   If you paid real estate taxes that are not on Form 1098, enter them on the Real Estate Tax (Property Tax) line instead.     Don't add the amount to the 1098.
