I know we're over a month away from filing, but the QCD question does not come up in TTX 2021 for those who turned 70.5 in 2021 when filling out the 1099-R for an IRA. I can change my birth year to 1950 and the QCD question comes up, but for 1951 it will not. Have QCD rules changed or is this a TTX glitch? I just received an Email that Form 1040 was ready to file.

This was a glitch on the 2020 software. I don't know if it was fixed (I've sent an inquiry to TT and will give you an update if I hear back).
See the 2020 workaround at: https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/retirement/discussion/re-if-you-are-referring-to-making-a-qualifie...
Thanks. Looks like the 2020 software was fixed as I just ran it and put 1950 as my birth year and it asked the QCD question. Apparently, TT hasn't updated the QCD eligibility date for 2021.

Thank you for providing that! We'll look into this further, however there may be a delay with turnaround time do to the holiday.
Hey @Lgabb !
I wanted to follow-up with you and give you some info. We looked this and it appears to be related to the availability of forms. Not all of the tax forms have been finalized by the IRS, but once there is a forms update on 1/20/22, this issue should be resolved. If you're still running into this same problem after that date, please let us know!
@SuziM Another user still had problems and support didn't know. https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/tax-credits-deductions/discussion/qualified-charitable-distributio...
Thank you for the follow-up! We are investigating this further.
Just updated software on 1/27/22 and problem still not fixed. Now, with this update, the program is stuck in an infinite loop in the error check as it keeps resetting the $600 charitable contribution to $300 and then declares that there's an error in the charitable contribution. I make the correction but no matter if I select "Done" or "Run Error Check Again", it cycles back through error check and resets the contribution back to $300.
