Even though the writing correctly, the Smart Check is asking for the token name for Box 1a. This is clearly an issue with the Smart Check.

It may be due to the way the description is written. Try entering a description similar to the example to see if that clears the message.

If you are still receiving the message, try deleting the entry and starting over:

Go to Tax Tools, Tools, then Delete a Form and remove any "Form 1099-B" or "Worksheet" that is causing the loop.

If the import keeps asking for a token you don't have, select "I'll type it in myself" and enter the summary totals from your Form 1099-B instead.

not sure why 1a since long-term is 8a. Another TurboTax bug?

It’s not the description. In fact, whatever we input in the easy step is converted into a specific type of form. These entries are then converted into Capital Sales entries. If it’s a digital asset, it requires a token name. However, in the easy step, we only have a token description and no provision for adding a name.image.png

Since you are entering cryptocurrency sales, did you select Digital Assets on the screen titled "OK, let's start with one investment type"?  You'll get asked if you received a 1099-DA from your digital wallet provider (this is a new form - for 2025, the custodian of your digital asset is not required to provide cost basis information on this form, so be sure to enter in what you paid for the crypto, so that you don't get taxed on money you have already paid tax on).  Once you enter your cryptocurrency sales (or mining or staking rewards) in, you may get prompted in Smart Review to enter a property description - type in the name of the digital asset (Bitcoin, Ethereum, etc.), and also whether it is digital asset - to which you would answer Yes.
