Why is my return still pending? (updated 3-16-21)

Thanks. Please let us know how it turns out. I’ve checked and the site still shows my e-filings being made on 2/15. I wonder if TurboTax will decide at some point to send the return to the IRS again.

@GabiU I submitted my federal tax return (no state) on 2/14/2021 and got the first email (transmission confirmation), but never got the second email (accept or reject). It is still pending today (2/20/2021). What's next?

I posted this morning about my state tax being pending for 8 days, and got a email stating there was an answer. I have lost the notification, deleted it I can only guess. Can you send me another notification about the response and how to get to it?

you sent me notice my state return was rejected and if i opened turbo tax it would tell me why. when i open turbo tax and select state tax it just starts to do it like a new return. i need clear instsructions !!! also my $20 backj if i cant get this done. Can i just print off a copy and mail it in as you say your software problem caused this. HOW DO I BRING UP A COPY OF THE COMPLETED TAX RETURN THAT WAS FILED.?

If you never receive your "rejection" from Turbotax, you might want to do what another user did, which is go to the California Franchise Tax board website directly and do your California return there and file it for free. You would just need to follow their instructions to create either a Basic Account or a MyFTB account. Keep in mind you must have already completed your Federal return before you can begin your State return on the Calif FTB website. I almost was going to do that, but since I was able to re-file my return through TurboTax, I didn't need to go through the State's website. But yes, lots of us agree that Turbotax should refund the $20 they charged us for e-filing to the state. It's the least they can do to redeem themselves for what we had to go through. Blessings.

Well in my case when my Va state return was rejected I went to their web site and clicked fix my return and filed again (just a few clicks)and next day it was accepted. I filed both federal and state back in Jan and my federal refund was in my checking account yesterday. A few days wasn't a big deal so I am happy with their service. Hope everyone else gets their return straight soon.

We received an email on 2/18 stating that the CA filing was rejected for Michelle LaPointe and that you would lead us through the fix that was necessary for the TurboTax caused issue. However, TurboTax didn't show anything to change. I did notice an issue with "Did you receive from 3895 question" It keep reverting back to "Yes" though I keep entering "No". Please advise what the next steps are.

I e filed federal and state on same day approx. 2/11/2021.

Federal was accepted and refund issued approximately 2/19/2021

AZ state is still pending.

I have not received an e mail from turbo tax or Az.

Can you tell me the status of my Az return.

I actually wrote to one of the executives here is the email address

[email address removed] and he responded stating that he forwarded my email and an expert will take a look. I would recommend everyone who is having issues to contact them this will probably expedite them looking into the issues and fixing it.

I received the email from you regarding your error which caused the state to reject my 2020 tax return. I get an error when I follow your instructions to open Turbo tax. I cannot install your updates. Can I get assistance please?

TurboTax -- All you do is keep saying that there was a problem with that returns in Pending status are being rejected. Why don't you state that they are being Rejected because of aTurbotax glitch and NOT being rejected by the State ? Gee whiz, please help these people having issues still with efiling their State returns ! PLEASE ! And emailing the Turbotax executives will send your email to the Office of the President (the email where staff is taking emails) on these efiling problems .

MESSAGE FOR TURBOTAX --

Hundreds if not thousands of people who paid hard earned money to purchase your product are still having big problems with their state returns.

Not only California, but reading the posts in the community there are other states as well having problems. And all the Turbotax support people are writing is that these people will receive an email stating their returns were "Rejected" and given instructions on how to fix it.

First, the rejection is by Turbotax, NOT the state. Put that information out up front please. Second, there are those who have finally fixed their returns and efiled successfully. But from what so many others are posting, there are still so many having issues trying to efile their state returns.

Man oh man, just please help these people. You are a huge company and we are just little people doing our best and trusting Turbotax do help !

God help us all !!
