I have had all taxes taken out of everything.. I have made more money this year than last year.. I paid everything and they say I still owe them state taxes.. why can't I find out why I owe them? For what reason do you need to take more money from the people that already paid? I should owe nothing

I would need to know what state you are working with to be more specific, but most states have a simple tax rate structure, which means they typically have one or two tax rates that are multiplied by your income to determine the tax amount.
If you look up the tax rate percentage in the state you are filing for and compare that with the percent of tax withheld on your W-2 form (box 17 divided by 16), you will probably find that the percentage of tax withheld is less than what it should have been. So, you may have not had enough tax withheld from your pay.
I live in Maine.. when trump was trying to do all the tax cuts earlier in the year.. I still had them take taxes out. But still. When I was filing.. it said I was getting fed and state back.. But then something changed and now it says I owe the state. I have used turbotax for the last 6 years and have never had to owe anything before.. I make sure all taxes are taken out to make sure I never owe them a penny..
As you know, we in the Community cannot see your private tax data.
However, I would encourage you to sit down with your 2019 and 2020 Maine tax returns and see what changed. Is the taxable income more? Is the withholding less? Is some credit that you had in 2019 missing from 2020?
If you used TurboTax Live and asked for a review of your return, that is the first thing we would do.
I would like to know the amount in Georgia state tax 2021
Can you clarify your question @LadyV72? What amount in Georgia state tax do you want to know about?
Georgia taxes income between 1% and 5.75%. You can find that tax tables in the IT-511 instruction booklet. One the page opens, click on the link for Tax Tables.
