Where do I enter non-Ohio state or local government interest and dividends on the Ohio state return?

Tax-exempt income is usually entered on the Ohio Schedule A, but there is no entry this year?

You enter it in the Federal section of TurboTax.

If your mutual fund company provided you a breakdown, you are only interested in your home state*. Multiply the % for your state by your total tax exempt dividends to get a $ amount (you can't enter the % in TurboTax [TT]). When asked which state, check the box "I earned tax exempt dividends in more than one state". In the drop down menu, select Ohio and enter the $ amount you calculated. In the 2nd box, select "More than one state" (at the bottom of the scroll down list) and enter the remaining dollar amount.

*Your state will tax all the dividends except the dividends from municipal bonds  from your state.

Thanks for the reply.  I have done exactly as you outlined more than 20 times, with no success. The fund gives me the exact % for Ohio.  My drop down choice:  "Multiple states, not a choice of 'more than one state'".  I have calculated and entered the bond fund correctly for more than 10 years, but this year the data does not correctly transfer to the Ohio state return, no matter what I do.  I have decided to file Ohio independently, as it allows me to enter the correct numbers directly.  Thanks, again.
