Where can I change my Solar and Wind Ene3rgy Credit Carryover? I accidently claimed it.

i need to go back and fix this, but can't find where I might have entered it on turbotax. Can someone help?

To make changes to the solar credit, please follow these steps to get back to the Home Energy credits section:

1. In TurboTax, open your tax return
2. Click on Federal in the left-hand column, then on Deductions & Credits
3. Locate the section Your Home and click on Show more
4. Click Start next to Home Energy Credits
5. Follow the interview to make the changes needed to your information.

Thanks, but it still won't let me efile my NY State return because it says "Return Claims a Solar and Wind Energy Credit carryover. I went to the NYSTATE Installed Solar Energy Equipment in 2022 and put 'no', then I went to the Unused Solar Energy Credit Carryover from Prior Years and put 0 in all. I still get the same Return Claims... message.  Please help!  Thanks.

To remove the solar and wind energy carryover from your NY return, please follow the steps below:

1. Open your return.
2. Click on State on the left-hand side.
3. Continue through the return.
4. On the page, Take a look at New York credits and taxes, scroll down to Unused Solar Energy Credit Carryover from Prior Years.
5. Delete any zero's that have been populated on the screen.
6. Click on Tax Tools on the left-hand side.
7. Click on Tools.
8. Click on Delete a Form.
9. Delete Form IT-255 and the IT-255 credit worksheet.

Thank you for the information, but there were no zeroes in the Unused Solar Energy Credit Carryover from Prior Years. Even so, I went back in and deleted the field once more for good measure.  I hit continue to save that. I then went into Tools and Delete a From, but there was no IT-255 or It-255 credit worksheet there. I tried to efile the return, but it still won't let me because of it saying there is a Solar Wind and Energy Carryover. This is very frustrating and I appreciate any and all help. Thanks again.

Delete your state tax return, then add it back in to see if that clears the error. Follow the steps below: 

1. Sign in and open a section of your return
2. From the menu, select State and then select Continue on the Let's get your state taxes done right screen
3. On the Status of your state returns screen, select Delete next to your state, then answer Yes.
