Forgive me here but this is new territory for me. My daughter started college last year so this is the first time we've entered this tax-type of territory. She still lives with us but attends a community college. I answered the Federal questions when they asked for deductions on her education expenses. It confuses me that I can do this when this is her deal with scholarships, loans and purchasing of books. Please correct me if I'm wrong in being able to do this but I did cosign her FAFSA so I'm assuming I get these deductions from her 1098-T?
Now the problem. Once I start my MN state return, I get this message:
Items not ready for filing
The recently passed federal tax law has extended many of the expired tax breaks. If you are affected by any of these extender provisions below, you cannot file your return until TurboTax has finalized the calculations for these items.
Does any of the following situations apply to you for tax year 2019?
-Claimed a tuition and fees deduction on your federal tax return?
So the Federal part is done with no issues. If I am claiming my daughter and the education expenses she has, this means I have to wait until TurboTax updates the MN tax calculations for their product? Is it that MN is slow for their tax side? When will this be available to file?

TurboTax is still working to update the software for changes made to tax law related to distributions from qualified tuition plans.
We are working as quickly as possible to get the program updated. In the meantime, you may continue to work on entering your data into the TurboTax program, but you will not be able to file your return until we finalize these areas of the program. At this time, we do not have an estimated date of completion for this update.
