In 2020, I made estimated school district tax payments to the state of Ohio. In TurboTax, I entered the estimated tax payments in the Federal section as follows:
1. Federal.
2. Deductions and Credits
3. Estimated Tax Payments
4. Revisit "Local Estimated Taxes for 2020"
5. For 'Locality', select "School District Tax, OH" and enter date/amount information.
But TurboTax does not seem to recognize the estimated school district tax payments when preparing the Ohio School District SD100 Tax Form. TurboTax indicates I still owe school district tax that I have already paid via the estimated school district tax payments.
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
It is possible that a SD-100 was added when you inputted your estimated payments and added a second time under the Ohio screen titled A few things before we wrap up your state taxes.
To delete a possible duplicate form, please follow these steps:
Once your return only has one SD-100 form, your local estimated payments for your school district should flow to this form.
Thanks for the reply. However, "Tools" is not shown as a menu item. I am not able to paste a screenshot in this message ... but the TT window's left pane indicates "Tax Home" and "Documents". The top menu shows only "Search", "Help", "Live Tax Advice". How to I force "Tools" to show up?

You have to sign onto your TurboTax online account with the exact same User ID you used to create the account and start the entry of the 2020 tax return. If you have started the tax return and you have signed onto the account with the correct User ID the there will be series of boxes for the sections of the TurboTax program shown that you click on to go back to your tax return. Once back to your 2020 online tax return the links on the left side of the online program screen will be available.
Click on one of the boxes and go back to your tax return -
Ok, I was able to find the "Tools" option by clicking "Review". Then I went to "Delete Forms" and scrolled to the bottom under "Ohio Return". There were seven SD100 Forms listed. I selected one of them and clicked <Delete> and it then listed four additional SD100 forms that would be deleted, I clicked <Delete Form>. It then said "We have deleted Form SD100 (2306)". I then clicked <Continue>. But now all seven of the SD100 Forms are still listed under "Ohio Return", even after performing a browser refresh. It seems that I am not able to delete any of the SD100 forms. Do I need to delete any of the Federal Forms first before trying to delete the SD100 forms? Please advise.
@Hal_Al Can you assist with Ohio SD100 forms?
No. I looked at this one earlier and can't make sense of it. I did test it on my desktop Deluxe and it worked like it's supposed to. I assume user error.
Under "Tools", I see "Clear and Start Over". Will this clear the problem? It will take about 1 hour for me to re-enter everything. Please advise.

The Clear and Start Over will remove everything from your tax return so that you can start over from the beginning.
