Why does the state return asking me not to enter any dates prior to 2017? when we moved to Virginia in 2015 and out of Virginia in 2017?

If you are filing a Part-Year Resident Return for Virginia, they are looking for the time that you lived in Virginia in 2017.  Since you moved out of Virginia in 2017, the dates they are looking for are 1/1/2017 through the date you moved out.
