State Tax filing

Attempted to efile my state taxes, but received a message that I must enter a valid TIN for a payer. The payer is "Wal Mart de Mexico S.A.B. de C.V."  with a TIN listed as 00-0000000 on the DIV form.  How do I get passed this error?

I suggest you delete that 1099-DIV and re-post it manually.  You do not need a TIN if you manually post it

On the menu in the sidebar on the left.

Select Tax Tools

  • You may have to minimize both the Federal and State options by clicking the Down Arrows on the Sidebar.
  • You will then clearly see Tax Tools
  • Click the arrow to up to see additional options
  1. On the drop-down select Tools
  2. On the Pop-Up menu select Delete a Form
  3. This will give you all of the forms in your return
  4. Scroll down to the form you want to delete
  5. Select the 1099-DIV
  6. Click on Delete.

If this is the first time entering investments

  1. Select Wages & Income
  2. Scroll to Investments and Savings1099-B, 1099-INT, 1099-DIV, Crypto Gain/Loss Report
  3. Did you have investment income in 2024? [Yes]
  4. A list of Financial Institutions will come up
  5. Enter a different way
  6. Five boxes will come up
  7. Select the Dividend Box - Continue
  8. How would you like to upload your 1099-XXX?
  9. Scroll down. Select [Type it myself]
  10. post your 1099-DIV
