State Tax filing payment

I have used Turbo Tax for years and have always had to pay for a Michigan State Filing even though one filing is supposed to be free.

I just completed my first 2019 return.  I answered Yes to the question about wanting this filing for free.

It made me pay anyway.

What am I doing wrong.

The desktop version comes with the software for one free state that can be mailed in. If you choose to e-file,  that is an additional fee.

When trying to pay for filing my Mass state taxes the window freezes and will not allow me to continue. I must speak to someone directly to solve this problem

Please call in to TurboTax - click the link for your call-in options - and tell them you were given this message from the TurboTax Employee Experts in Community for the Call Center Team:

• your program is not updating.
• This is a known issue.
• The solution is for the call center pro's to push you
  • first the federal software, and
  • then the state.

Everything will work after the new download. Thank you for your patience.

In the File section of the program on Step 2 , when taxes are owed, you will be given options on how to pay the taxes owed.

There should be a voucher with a payment amount along with instructions on where to send.
