We have contacted online, and phone to Turbo Tax help and they are not sure either.
My husband and I file jointly. We live outside the city of Detroit but both work IN the city of Detroit, partially. We also work from home.
1) Why does it say I have to file differently? I am a non resident as well.
2) How/where do we put in the fact we only work "some" days? We both keep track of home vs office time.
I have tried to go forward to see what happens based on what I put in. When I got to the end, it said we had a $15 City refund. Ok that is what we got when we worked in the city full time. We aren't anymore and I need to know where we put that information. We have gotten letters from both our employers about the hybrid working arrangement. Thanks

You are able to file a joint Detroit City return if you are both nonresidents. TurboTax’s directions may be confusing.
When TurboTax refers to the person that is listed first on the return, that means joint. Do not file a return for the spouse.
To allocate your income between days worked in and out of Detroit,
Thank you! This sounds like the answer we needed to hear.
