I bought a car last year, but my return shows less sales tax than 2024, when I had no major purchases. I'm using the estimation process, and added in the actual amount of tax paid on the car. Last year's tax estimate was just over $3k. This year I bought a car and paid over $3k in sales tax, so my total sales tax should be about $6k, but I can't find a way to correct the calculation.

Yes. Recording your total sales tax in TurboTax Online can be done in one of two ways. Enter the full amount of sales tax paid last year including the vehicle portion and making sure you entered the sales tax rate accurately.
NOTE: If the rate was entered incorrectly it will cause the wrong information. Be sure to enter the percentage as 6.25 as example. Do not enter .0625.
An option is to use the steps below to enter your full sales tax for the year including the vehicle portion or check the entry above and answer the questions.
