I am using TT Premier. I have Massachusetts state tax (for my tax return). Today, I was doing my daughter's tax return (who lives in California). I purchased California State tax.
But I can't make it to work.
I see California on the Your State Returns page (I am using Windows version)
When I click on Start - for California, the TT says the state is installed. But nothing happens.
And there is no number in the California box (up at the top).
When I click on See Amount, it goes thought the same loop:
UPDATE. The issue resolved. Last night I spent 2 hours on the phone with one TT support person (totally useless). Even though I knew what needed to be done in order to resolve the issue. But she refused to do it (I think it was just a case of incompetence; not malicious).
This morning the tech support was knowledgeable and willing to listen. The problem was resolved.
For those interested, the resolution was for me to download the Calif tax return software and install it into the TT manually.
