I received 2 w2s from the same employer, with the same EIN. When adding the wages from the 2 separate w2s together, they equal what I would expect my annual wages for 2022 to be. I assume to file this year I simply add the 2 together, however, leaving this comment in the hope that turbotax builds out the functionality to handle this smoother in future years!
(Filing 2 w2s with the same EIN seems to confuse turbotax).

TurboTax is correct to flag the unusual situation that you would have two different W-2s from the same employer; TurboTax wants to make sure that you did not accidentally enter the W-2 twice. One could have been the original and the second a corrected copy, and so on.
But in your case, your workaround is the correct thing to do - make a single W-2 from the combination of the two, and enter it.
I use desktop deluxe. my son got multiple w-2's from the same employer, (same EIN) the only difference among them was the address because he worked at multiple offices in the same state. each was entered as a separate w-2. Turbotax never prevented or flagged the e-filing and, he's gotten his refund already.
