Why can’t I efile my Georgia Amended Tax return?

I need to file an amended Georgia 500-X return for tax year 2021. The 1040-X seems to go through TurboTax desktop okay but then filing stops because the program will only accept a "today's date" within the period 1/1/22 to 12/31/22. Georgia will accept efiled returns for prior years, so what could be the problem?

The Georgia amended state tax return for tax year 2021 cannot be e-filed using TurboTax.  You will need to change the filing method in the File section of the program by selecting File by Mail.

Yep - saw that one. Georgia is in the first section that shows which states are eligible.

Yes, the amended state return is only eligible for e-file in the same year with TurboTax. A tax professional with professional software, may be able to e-file your amended return for 2021.
