There are no e-file verification numbers when using TurboTax, federal or state.

After completing the File section and e-filing your tax return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first email when your tax return was transmitted and the second email when the tax return has either been accepted or rejected.

I know that we have to issue a number to enter in the box. How can I get that number?

You are talking about your AGI.  That number is your adjusted gross income for last year, which is tax speak for 'that's the total amount of money you earned last year that was subject to taxes.'

Your AGI is on your 2020 return.  If you look on your 2020 1040 on line 11 that is where you'll find it.
