TT has no way of knowing that.  Per NY, wait at least six to eight weeks for paper filed returns to check the status here: 

https://www8.tax.ny.gov/PRIS/prisStart

In the future, mail with a USPS tracking number.

You can track your NY State return on their website.  You can also create a NY State online account and you will see if they received your return and you can also sign up for emails.  They will send you an email when your NY State return is processed and the date of direct deposit.
