Has anyone else encountered problems with estimated Indiana state tax being calculated incorrectly or not al all when using Turbo Tax Deluxe? I can't seem to get it to work correctly.
Thanks.
Cindy

In desktop versions using the "Forms mode" you can make the inputs yourself. In fact while we are looking into this more, if you right click in the box 1b on the "Estimated Wks" you will see a "Data Source" option. Click that data source and it will let you know the calculated tax for 2023 based on your inputs. You can then "Override" box 2a and put in that tax number. The worksheet will then calculate your quarterly payments.
Thanks. I'll give it a try. I think I may have discovered a little bit of what is causing my problem -- I have been trying different options etc. -- my state taxes for 2022 have a filing status of Married Filing Jointly but my husband passed away in Sept 2022, so next year my filing status will be Single -- When I enter Married Filling Jointly when trying to calculate the Estimated tax I get numbers -- obviously not ones I can use because the status is wrong, but I do get dollar amounts.
I'll let you know what I discover.
Thanks.
In my last message I mentioned the possibility of filing status being the culprit -- it indeed is. If I complete the estimated step-by-step using Married Filing Jointly -- I get what I need, sort of, because the exemptions are not correct -- it shows $4000 instead of $2000 -- so I add $2000 to the Federal Adjust Gross Income for 2023 and got the numbers I needed.
This is not an idea situation -- the Tax Hints clearly say that the estimated portion of the program uses the current state filing status -- ideally, you should be able to choose what ever status you want?
Thanks.
