how do I delete a state return from turbo tax (not filed) to replace with a return from a different state?

You can delete your state return in TurboTax Online as long as you haven't paid or registered yet.
If you don't see the option to delete your state (you'll probably see Edit instead), you've already paid your TurboTax fees (including the state fee) or registered your free version while the state was on your return. If you've done either of these things, you can't delete your state return.
so it doesn't appear I can delete the state return at this point since I tried to e-file and was rejected. I'm filing my deceased Mother's taxes and turbo tax keeps filling in the spouse information with my widowed Mother's data and tells me to delete it and after I do, tells me the cell must be filled in - around and around. So I'm guessing the only way forward is to delete everything and start over and just do the Fed. She doesn't owe any State tax. But can't figure out how to clear out my file. When I log in I keep getting the filled forms.
You may be able to get rid of this data using the procedure described in the TurboTax Help article “How do I clear and start over in TurboTax Online?”.
Yes, this is a terrible feature of Turbo Tax. You make one minor mistake and click to accept a recommendation that the system provides which is wrong and then your f*cked and have to delete the return and start over. What a stupid stupid system.
So I've accidentally done this. It says that I don't have to file a state. It says to delete the state return and to ignore the message below that says to mail it in. The trouble is, I've already filed and there's no delete button. So what should I do now? Do I indeed ignore the mail-in message? Or, because I can't delete it, do I mail something in anyway?
