That would not matter much. The critical point is "long-term".
Hi Champ,
I noticed what I didn't do. I didn't put the applicable check box from the 1099-B for Form 8949 on the form. I will see if I can fix it. I really appreciate all of your help with this.
Hi Champ,
I wasn't able to fix the issue below. Can I file it as is ? I know you said it wouldn't matter much but I get nervous sending anything to the IRS. thanks
Which issue? Have you tried Forms Mode?
I cannot see your return so I have no idea as to the exact nature of the issue.
Hi Champ,
I was referring to the issue below that I asked you earlier :
Hi Champ,
I am almost done but noticed on form 8949 part ll F is checked (long term transactions not report to you on form 1099-b. In the 1099-B I received it shows the cost basis reported to the IRS with two of the transactions but not checked for one of the transactions. They were all sold the same day with one transaction but shouldn't I have checked box D and box F for the one without Basis reported to IRS ? thanks
You replied, that would not matter much, the critical point is long-term.
Thanks

Box D for transactions reported to you on the 1099-B where basis was reported.
Box E for transactions reported to you on the 1099-B where basis was NOT reported.
Good evening,
on form 8949 part ll box F is checked but I need to change it to box D for part of the transaction and box E for the other part. I don't know how to edit it. The 1099-B I received shows two transactions, one with cost basis reported and the other not reported. thanks
Return to the Stocks, Mutual Funds, Bonds, Other section of the program and delete the transactions you entered incorrectly.
Enter the transactions again with the correct box selected.
