The fix worked after I updated. Thanks to the OP for bringing it up as I was initially confused if some tax laws have changed.
@Gmen4life, thanks for your info, and this is very helpful. Unfortunately, it sounds that we are on our own for resolving this issue (on Sch NJ-DOP line 4). I assume this is also caused by the CSV file that I uploaded for the crypto which has more than 100 transactions. I will try your approach later, but am not sure if I can attach the CSV file as a support like 1099-B. We'll see.
@kenzo007your welcome and yes people with this issue will be on there own as in prior years. Most brokers/exchanges also issue a PDF with the CSV file. Like I said I was lazy this year a did the auto import. After the error I did it manual like I always do and it went through issue free. Best of luck to you. I hope you are able to get it to work. I also trade crypto as well.
How do I file a NJ return with an incorrect error regarding Business Alternmative income tax which does NOT exist.
Same problem here. Also,, because I apparently have two accounts, finding it impossible to get a copy of return.
I e-filed my return last night after the BAIT issue. It got rejected again. This time it is saying "NJ_PY_Retirement_Exclusion_Hold - Your New Jersey state return requires a product update before it can be electronically filed". How do I fix this issue?
I don’t understand what you’re saying. Manually enter what? How do you know what and where to enter info?
I was never able to see copy of the return that I am able to file by mail. Totally frustrated at this point and will wait until next week before trying to move ahead again.
I have the same problem. I don't own a business and have never owned a business. Has anyone heard if it is repaired yet?
i also have the J_PY_Retirement_Exclusion_Hold issue. it successfully filed but was later rejected by NJ
does it try to charge you again even though your credit card was charged yesterday?
It did not charge me a 2nd time. After paying the first time and not being able to transmit, the software popped up a message that the NJ E filing was already paid for and that I needed to come back and try again.
At this point I believe I am filed, with 1 $20 fee, but still do not have an acceptance confirmation from NJ.
G men
you mean delete the documents uploadsd by robinhood? Then do what?
@bigshot723 Yes if your Broker is Robinhood delete the form you auto imported, then re add it but do it manually. Then follow the prompts from turbo tax download the 1099B look at 1d- Proceeds totals enter that number, when asked for the basis look at 1e- Cost, enter that number. For the dates you can put various if asked. If you have any wash sales it will say it on the 1099b make sure you put that number in as well.
Turbo tax has an option to add that too, once you do that turbo tax will ask for the copy to be uploaded. Do that then you are ready transfer that data over to the state. Then you can Efile and it should now accept it. That’s how I did mine and my state has been accepted for Efile. I do it like this every year. The auto import this year messed it up for me but I fixed it by doing it the manual way.
Also if you make more then 6 or 8 trades a year it makes sense to consolidate it and do it this way. If you have 100’s of trades and list each one with the auto import some states or maybe even on TT end can’t handle it and you will get errr with that form asking you to update it with that 0 at the end. It won’t let you E file like that.
@Gmen4life What if I have more than 340 trades? I’ve already filed federal return with no problems. Do I need to file my state return by mail?
