I've completed my Fed return but have a Turbotax problem with data transfers to my Mass State return. My large employer rightfully withheld PA income taxes for the time I was remotely working in PA. But in my main W-2, my Box 1 and Box 16 for MA are identical. I then have a PA w-2 with 0 in Box 1 and my PA wages in Box 16, along with the proper PA withholding. All fine until Turbotax, for the Massachusetts Form 1 line 3 double counts the PA income, giving me an incorrect and much higher total of W-2s (and tax owed). I have tried overriding the number with the correct number, but the override prevents e-filing the MA return. Any solution, or do I need to file by US Mail (UGGH)???

Be sure you have entered these two W2s as one W2 with two state lines (boxes 15-17).
Then in the MA state interview "update" the Adjustments section. Click through to the page titled "About your State Wages."
Answer "No" the transfer is not correct.
Then answer "Yes" you want to use only the MA line.
Complete the section interview.
This will eliminate the duplication.

I did this and it corrected the double counting issue but then I get a message that because I made a change, I can't e-file. Is there a workaround? Thanks.
