Live in Montana but work remotely (telecommute) with a company based in California

Do I file state taxes in Montana only? Or is Montana one of those exceptions where it would require filing state taxes in both Montana and California? Thank you!

Live in Montana but work remotely (telecommute) with a company based in California

If you do not physically work in CA there is no need to file a CA state income tax return.  You report all of your income on the Montana state income tax return.
