Indiana State Tax Question: TT is showing I can take the $1000 personal exemption on my IN state tax return even though I am claimed as a dependent? Is this right?

Is it still applicable if I had $4900 worth of income?

According to the Indiana Department of Revenue, this is correct.  You can take the $1000 exemption even if claimed as a dependent on someone else's return.  There is no income limits.  Here is the IN tax bulletin.
