IL Requiring W-2 Completion

Turbo Tax for IL is requiring W-2 completion, when I have no income and therefore have not received a W-2. How do I  get by this requirement?

Return to the federal interview and check if there was any information input. If a form was started, even if the details are blank, TurboTax will warn you about it, affecting the federal and the state. The way to get by the W-2 requirement is to make sure that nothing is posted in this section.

To do this in TurboTax, follow these steps:

• From the left menu, select Federal
• Wages & Income will be the next page that opens. Scroll down to Jobs (W-2) and click Edit/Add
• If anything is listed, click the Trash Can Icon
   
• Next, go back to the left menu to Tax Tools
• Tools
• Delete a Form
• Scroll through to check if Form W-2 is listed or a Wages, Salaries & Tips Worksheet and click delete. Confirm the deletion. Repeat as needed on this list.
   
• Sign Out of your TurboTax program
• Close the browser window
• Wait a minute
• Open a new, incognito Chrome window
• Sign in to your TurboTax program
• Run your reviews again to confirm that your can continue with your tax filing
