Use the Tax Withholding Estimator on the IRS web site to figure out what to put on your W-4 form. It will show you how to adjust your withholding to get the approximate refund amount that you want.
It's a new job- So i haven't received a pay check yet to be able to fill that out.
If you are single with no dependents and only one job, you don't have a lot of flexibility. On the W-4, just fill out Step 1 and check the box for Single. Leave Steps 2, 3, and 4 blank. Sign and date the form in Step 5 and give it to your employer. After you get your first paycheck, go back to the Tax Withholding Estimator and see where you stand. If you want to make an adjustment, fill out a new W-4 and give it to your employer.
