Help me understand where Turbo Tax pulled the amount on MO-CR line 4 - it doesn't match anything on the W-2. MO-CR line 4 wants "Other Income-describe nature"?

Do you have other sources of income that is not W2 income?

I live in Missouri. Took a new job in September in Kansas. The MO-CR form is required because I now have income from KS. The W-2 from Kansas doesn't have any numbers that are or add up to the amount that Turbo Tax has put on Line 4 that I am supposed to define what the income is. I'm looking at the MO website for guidance and it's not helpful. (Lines 3 and 4 - Enter the total amount of wages, commissions, and other income you or your spouse received from other state(s), as reported on the other state(s) return.) If I could figure out where Turbo Tax is pulling the number from I think it would help? I'm looking at the KS W-2 and nothing is adding up. It's a straight salary kind of position, no tips, or commissions. I'm lost.

Look at what is reported in Box 16 to Kansas.  Hopefully that is the income that appears on the MO-CR form.  The credit might not match up with the Kansas withholdings in Box 17.  The actual credit will be the lower of Kansas net tax (which is the amount of withholdings, plus additional amount owed or subtracting refund you are claiming), or what Missouri taxes that amount of income.  If the amount is not the Kansas amount, then it should be the Missouri tax amount on the income reported to Kansas.
