I paid my NM taxes with credit card. How do I efile my state return?

Assuming you are using TurboTax, you can proceed to file in the File section of the program. 

TurboTax will take you step by step and help you electronically file your tax return.

I mailed my 1040-SR as it included a third-part check.

NY State REQUIRES that I e-file.

T T program did not warn me that I cannot e-file the state is I did not e-file the Federal.

What can I do ? ? ?

Unfortunately, there is no way to electronically file your state return since you mailed in your federal return.

New York requires you to e-file if you meet all three of the following requirements:

1. You use software to prepare your return
2. Your software allows you to electronically file your return
3. You have internet access

Since you had to mail in your Federal return, you no longer are able to electronically file your New York return.  Therefore, you do not meet all 3 requirements mentioned on the New York Department of Taxation website.  See the following link:

You can try to use the New York website to e-file if you meet their requirements as listed on the link above.
