And, just to be sure, Box 15 also says New York (not NJ or some other state)? Assuming this to be true, you may wish to contact someone in customer service. You have some entry that is off; we have not received widespread reports of others having your experience. It actually took NY. Not sure why it does not recognize the NYC (this year). Thanks again!!

It didn't work for me. It was originally New York, NY in box 20. I tried NY, NYC, NYC Res. Turbotax Online keeps looping me back to Fix Federal.
Go back to the W-2 form to enter NYC for the locality.
