Asking about a rollover but I didn't make one

Turbotax is asking in the state area:

"Rollover to SIMPLE IRA for Name"

A rollover of $xxx was entered for Name, was any of this for a Simple IRA?

I don't have a simple IRA and I did not rollover any money to any other type of account.  I have no idea what this is asking about.

1. What was the state?

2. Did you have a 1099-R of any sort? What was the distribution code in box 7 on that form?

state is NJ

I didn't have a 1099R but my husband did.  It's saying my name however.  He didn't rollover anything

oh also distribution code was G on one 1099R, 1 on the other 2 1099R's (he had 3 of them in total)

@daichovo

Go back on the 1099-R section and change the name of the owner of the forms to his name and not yours.

The 1099-R with a code of G in box 7 indicates the distribution was a rollover.  If this was not a rollover then you need to contact the payer of the 1099-R and request a corrected 1099-R.

When you entered his Form 1099-R, did it accidently get entered under your name?

If you go back to your Retirement Income Section in TurboTax and select "Edit" by his 1099-R you can see what was entered.

You can try deleting that Form 1099-R and reentering it as well.  That may remove any incorrect data.

Follow these steps to delete your 1099-R in TurboTax:

  1. Go to Form 1099-R
  2. Select the trash can next to your 1099-R and then answer Yes

You can view your entire return or just your 1040 form before you e-fi to check your entries:

  1. Sign in to your TurboTax account
  2. Open or continue your return
  3. Select Tax Tools from the menu (if you don't see this, select the menu icon in the upper-left corner)
  4. With the Tax Tools menu open, you can then:
    • Preview your entire return: Select Print Center and then Print, save or preview this year's return (you may be asked to register or pay first)
    • View only your 1040 form: Select Tools. Next, select View Tax Summary in the pop-up, then Preview my 1040 in the left menu

You can preview your return (to check these entries) in the TurboTax CD/Download software by following these steps:

  1. With your return open in TurboTax, select Preview from the File menu at the top. (If you don't see "Preview," open your return, not just the program).
  2. In the pop-up window, choose the set of forms you wish to see (all official forms, specific forms, etc.) and select Preview.
  3. Scroll down to view all the forms if you chose to preview multiple forms.
