Apparently Turbo Tax Experts are sending out mixed messages about this problem, based on a previous post I read. I know that there are many changes afoot with both Fed and state tax rules and regulations right now, and I would have been happy to wait for an update if I had not already paid my fee. I had to wait at one point for a another form update before I could continue. However, please understand that my biggest gripe with TT right now is that it let me get all the way through both Fed and State, did a review, told me it was ready to file, allowed me to initiate filing, including paying my state filing fee, and then, and only then, did it run one last review and throw up this error which is unfixable on the user's part. This is poor, poor customer service and smacks of deceit.
I have this exact problem in GA and am terribly disappointed in the lack of support. I have been using TT for 20 years without problems. This has me pulling my hair out trying to help my FIL with his filing.
I'm having the same issue. Already paid for e-filing and the Check This Entry Railroad Retirement Distributions error prevents me from filing.
TT Twitter Support just wrote:
“This issue should be fixed. You would want to make sure your TurboTax program is fully up to date and also check to make sure your computer/operating system is up to date.
-T.F.”
Testing tonight...
Thanks. Let us know how it goes.
I am having the same problem with my Georgia returns. I had a tax pro check it and the information is entered correctly. I checked at 02:00 pm today and I got an update finally. However it did not clear this issue up. The tax pro said it was a software problem with Turbo Tax. I am very disappointed with Turbo Tax for the first time in many, many years of use. I can't file my taxes because of their error and I will be very reluctant to use Turbo Tax next year. I expect much better from them.
I have opened TT 3 times today and no updates were provided for download. Problem is still here.
Last update provided was three days ago. My system (Windows 10), Wi-Fi, etc., all working and up to date.
Has anyone TT Twitter Support's claim to be true today?
I just tried and no updates. Messaging support again.
I do not have an update to apply either.
Having not messed with TurboTax since last week, I booted up last night (Monday) and I did get a March 18 program update. But as others have said already, it did not fix the false error and would not allow me to efile my Ga stare return. I also looked at TurboTax help site on Twitter and they are bombarded with complaints from people who are having problems getting there Covid checks due to delays or wrong bank accounts. I'm just saying that may be a higher priority for them. I don't know.
I am working on my Ga. tax . Ready to file but keep getting message of error Schedule 1 line 7a, and line 13.tried to make correction but can't do it. Program won't allow changes.
Just got off the phone with 2 different reps from Turbo Tax. I spent 1 and 1/2 hours on the line with them. They tried everything twice. No luck. They finally said it was a software problem and it is supposedly being updated. They are going to notify their supervisors about the problem. They read all the complaints that have been posted. They said to just keep checking for updates. No joy!
Thanks for sacrificing yourself. And for the "update" .
I get the same error. I think I will return my TT to Costco and get paper forms and just fill them out the old fashioned way.
To folks having the Georgia Schedule 1 problem:
I have talked with several folks at Intuit/Turbo Tax over the past couple of days about this problem. They have assured me that they are now working on a solution. No promises as to when, but possibly next week. I was asked to share the above link which will allow you to sign up for an email notification when the fix is complete and you can complete your pre-paid filing.
