Penalties

Hi,

 

I filed my return on Friday. I paid the prep fees for turbo tax. However I was unsure if I’m going to have pay a penalty for late filing. I believe since I’m only receiving my stimulus check, I may not be charger for federal. But for state I’m not sure. Can anyone please provide me some guidance on this matter?

Penalties

There is no penalty for filing after the deadline if you do not owe tax due or are getting a refund.   If you owe tax due and file late then you are subject to penalties and interest.
