I worked in MN until 7/1/2022. I then took a job in Virginia and have an apartment there. My wife and kids still live in MN. My wife does not work.
How do I proceed with taxes? Do I file a Married filing jointly federal return? I know I have to file 2 state returns. Does it matter which one I complete first? Do I file them as Married filing jointly, or should they be married filing separately?

It depends. Did you move to VA and maintain a place of abode there for more than 183 days? It does not appear so based on working in MN until 1 July. If that is the case then you and your spouse were not VA residents, you would file a VA nonresident return as Married Filing Joint. You would have a resident joint return for MN and the federal joint return.
In the "My Info" section. Indicate you and your spouse lived in MN on 31 Dec and did not live in any other state. Next in the My Info section scroll down to the "Other State Income" item and indicate you earned money in another state (VA). This will generate the correct MN resident and VA non-resident forms.
When you begin your state returns complete the VA non-resident return first and then the MN resident. On the VA summary take note of the taxes paid and income taxed by VA. You will be able to claim a credit for taxes paid to another state on your MN return using that information.
If you continue to work/live in VA for all of 2023 and your spouse does not, you will not be able to file a joint VA return for 2023. You would need to file a separate VA return since your spouse was not a VA resident.
