I live in Virginia and received a North Carolina K-1. I am considered a non-resident of NC for tax purposed.
On line 7 it showed an amount that was paid to NC for my estimated tax. How do I enter this amount into Turbo Tax so that I can file for a credit. I purchased the NC state tax module but don't see a place to enter it there. When I enter my K-1 in my federal taxes I don't see a place to put the NC taxes paid
thanks

The state estimated tax payments are entered into the Federal return because the payment is considered a possible itemized deduction.
Use the following steps to go to the section of TurboTax to enter the state estimated tax payments that were reported on your K-1:
The amounts entered will be carried to your state tax return and applied toward your taxes.

I tried your method and it gets close but not quite. The estimated taxes paid get entered on line 21a "estimated 20196 taxes". However since the taxes paid were from a LLC partnership, the taxes should be entered on line 21c "Partnership" of the NC tax form.
How do I get the estimate taxes moved down to the correct line.
Thanks
Curt
I realize this is old, but did you ever figure it out? I was wondering instead of listing under Estimated Tax Payments / State Estimated Taxes, instead put it under Other Incomes Taxes / Withholding not already entered on a W-2 or 1099. Our K-1 has Footnotes that discuss both estimates paid AND withholding, but the amounts are the same for the most part. I haven't checked to see how it flows to the state returns
Yes, if you entered withholding tax paid to another state as 'Other Incomes Taxes / Withholding not already entered on a W-2 or 1099' as you mentioned, this should flow into your state return correctly.
