Oregon resident with W2 for a job based in Tennessee?

As an Oregon resident my wife and I are filing Oregon state taxes but I am attempting to file a W2 for a job based in Tennessee. Nothing was listed on my box 15 on my W2 I received from that employer, so I left it blank. Tennessee does not file state taxes. The company is based out of Texas. Why is Turbo tax automatically list OR in this box and deducting OR state taxes for a job based in Tennessee? TN is not an option on the drop down. Should I use TX?

Oregon residents are taxed on income earned everywhere (i.e. "gross income") so your Tennessee earnings are taxable to OR. States provide a credit for double taxed income. However, Tennessee has no income tax, so there is no credit for tax paid to another state.

You can leave the state boxes (15-20) on the W-2 blank. You do not need a state code since the income is taxed by Oregon.
