I thought I got one state free. I have to file MA and RI, in the end my bill is @$24.95 for each...?
What gives?

You get one free state PROGRAM download to prepare unlimited state returns. Then each state return (including the first one) is 19.99 to efile, usually goes up to 24.99 March 1. Or you can print and mail state for free.
So... one free, MA. one I pay for, RI. Why billed for 2, $48.14?
Is the difference 'free to print?'
What crap...
Thank you.
You got the MA program download for free.
Then you had to buy a second state RI program for 44.99
THEN it is 24.99 to efile each state return including the first one. Or you can print and mail state for free.
So you could have 3 charges.......
44.99+24.99+24.99
And be careful! Go slow and watch the screens there is one that can trip you up. If you choose to have the fees deducted from your federal refund there is an EXTRA 39.99 Pay with Refund Service charge.
Thank you, I saw the additional fees from rolling it.
And I did only get charged twice. Sigh. Never again.
talk about bait and switch. How misleading. I am in the same situation.
Box, invoice or online description says Federal Returns + Federal E-File + State returns. It does not say state efiling is included. It also says on the back on my CD case in the chart comparing the versions.....
1 state product via download (print free or efile for $19.99 each) prices subject to change without notice.
The state efile price is 19.99 but usually goes up to 24.99 on March 1. So try to file before March.
I have a similar question, but I would like to speak to someone on the phone instead of posting my personal situation for everyone to see. Is there a number to call?
