I'm doing (combined) taxes for a decedent's estate and section-645-electing trust.
On IRS form 1041
- I mark item A as "decedent's estate"
- mark item C with the estate's EIN
- check the box in item G and enter the electing trust's EIN
So far, so good. Now, on to CA form 541... and I don't see anything analogous to 1041's item G.
What box am I missing? Where do I tell the state this is also the return for the section-645-electing trust???
