I efiled my federal tax return, but I cannot file my New York State.
It says reason for ineligibility is "Return claims a solar and wind energy credit carryover."
Is it because I have solar credit?

It is possible that you may have an incomplete, or carried over form, in your return. You can clear that as follows:
If you are using TurboTax Online:
If you are the Desktop version (disc or download):
You should be able to e-file once those forms are cleared out.
Linda,
Thanks for your reply, but I do have solar credit to file for 2023. I don't have the carryover from previous years, though. I can't delete 5695 form. Is it okay to just mail in the State Tax return?
Ok. I understand that you have a solar credit for this year. That was to get rid of any possible carryover that may have gotten stuck from a prior year.
Can you clear the carryover (that should not be there) and then add your solar credit?
You can mail your New York return as follows:.
