Some users have reported that even though they do not choose the solar energy credit for Arizona, in the state review, they are asked to fill some fields for form 310 (Solar Energy Credit).
We have not been able to reproduce this issue; however, a TurboTax user has come up with a workaround.
When you are asked about entering the property address for the location of the solar energy property, go ahead and enter an address (any address). Then answer any other questions that you have to in order to get off the form. Enter zeros for numbers, if necessary.
Note, it does not matter what you enter, because we are going to delete the form.
To delete the form, please follow these instructions:
1. Finish the rest of your return , and do the Review process. After this is done (and before you file), do the following:
*** Desktop***
2. go to View (at the top), choose Forms, and select the desired form (Arizona 310). Note the Delete Form button at the bottom of the screen.
*** Online ***
2. go to Tax Tools (on the left), and navigate to Tools->Delete a form
3. delete form Arizona 310
Now you can file your return.
I wish I knew this before sending my efile. The customer representative that helped me said just to complete the missing information and send it since it didn't make no changes on my total amount. Hopefully it doesn't become an issue later on..
If you did not enter an amount that you spent on the solar device, then the credit calculated should be zero. Check form 310, line 18, and make sure it was zero.
In this case, the supposed credit did not affect your AZ refund or amount due.
You should write a note to yourself on what happened - i.e., form 310 was added to your return when it didn't need to be and you actually didn't buy any solar equipment - and stick it in your tax file in case anyone ever asks about it.
I don’t even have form 310 as an option to delete.
I never installed solar stuff but I can’t complete my AZ taxes until I enter an address to where I supposedly installed solar stuff. How can I fix this?? I’ve gone over my state and federal a dozen times and can’t see how this form attached itself to me. Help please!
This is a known issue. Please click on the link below for updates. TurboTax will advise you when the issue has been rectified.
You can also try the following as it may rectify the issue as well.
After you log into TurboTax and select the Federal section located in the black panel on the left:
This solution did not work for me, however first one of going through the form 310 and entering zeros and then going to "Forms" and deleting the AZ form 310 did.
