When doing the last check before e-filing, I get a message that there is 1 error and it takes me to Minnesota M1M form. It says that I need to enter the grade a child is in school but it won't let me enter anything in the blue box.
I have listed this child correctly (Not in K-12 as she is not 5 years of age yet)
How to I correct this form so it will let me e-file?
Thanks
Bill

After working with Customer Service, Tax Consultant, a Supervisor, and "Lead", they confirmed there is a programming (code) issue and that "Engineering" would fix it for next season. I was apparently correct, the M1M form is not recognizing the "Not a K-12 student" option from the worksheet.
The suggested options for now are:
1. Enter 12 (or perhaps K pending the non K-12 condition) and the system will recognize it and verify without error. This works if there are NO qualifying expenses to be claimed for that child. OR
2. Print a hard copy and mail in your return.
I am having the same error on the M1M form. My error regards a stay home college student where "Not a K-12 student" is adding him to the Table of Line 19 requiring an entry. It will not let me enter any value at all .... as if the field is locked.
If I remove the "Not a K-12 student" option in the Expenses Worksheet for Line 19, he disappears from Line 19 and the error clears. However, the Worksheet now shows an error for no designation at his name. It is being pulled from the Federal EIC data Student Information Worksheet without recognizing his college status.
I would assume the error is being generated in not recognizing an non-K-12 reference from the Federal EIC in the Minnesota M1M worksheet and assuming an entry is required.
Please advise. It is the only thing holding up my tax submission.
