Living in NJ, got 1099-G from NY. Not clear how to file

Hello, can you please help me to figure out how to file?

I and my wife are living in NJ, and filing jointly. My income is pure NJ, but my wife's income includes 1099-g from NY + selling stocks which is NJ income as we live in NJ.

I'm working on State taxes, and now trying to file NY taxes for her.

Turbotax asks regarding my wife's income: "do you have any NY state only wages to report"?

- if I answer Yes then it asks to enter the Employer name, which is absolutely not relevant for 1099-G, then I consider Yes  is wrong answer

- if I answer No then it asks to enter NY portion for:

a) Capital Gains / Losses

b) Unemployment Compensation.

Am I correct entering $0 for A (NY has nothing to do with our stocks),

and the full unemployment compensation amount for B (I guess if NY pays unemployment, then it is 100% NY income - correct?)

Yes. Unemployment is the only New York income on the NY nonresident return. Say No to any NY state only wages and enter $0 for your other income.

New York taxes unemployment whereas New Jersey does not.
