While completing the kansas state return the program keeps counting the tax exempt KPER  income amount

EDIT that 1099-R in the Federal section, and Make Sure you selected the KPERS selection as shown below  (also note that the KPERS distribution amount is usually NOT  a zero):

That doesn't look like my form . I would love to call turbotax but they seem to have their number well hidden.

The link to Customer Support I posted above works....as long as you don't try it outside of their working hours (PACIFIC time)…….of course, no access for "Online Free" edition users, but anyone else can use it.

 

The page I showed above will only show up if you are a KS resident (and indicated that on the MyInfo page)...your KPERS pension may not be exempt in any other state.

 

You EDIT the 1099-R in question, then step thru the pages after the main 1099-R form to get to the page shown....
