The first 8 months I worked in Alabama of 2017. The last 4 months I worked in Georgia of 2017. My DR license, car insurance, and car tag is registered for Alabama. From now on I will work in Georgia and live with a family member. If in 2018, I only work in GA, will I have any taxes to pay for AL since I do not work there?
Should I transfer my driver’s license to GA? My car is registered under my mother’s name who’s license in in AL. I do not plan not changing my car registration to GA.

The answer to that depends on where you actually live, not on your drivers license.. If your domicile (your permanent home) is in Alabama, ALL your income is taxable by Alabama. If your domicile is Alabama and you work in Georgia, your income from GA would be taxable by both GA and AL. In that situation, you'd file a non-resident GA return in addition to a resident AL return. You wouldn't be double-taxed because you'd be able to take a credit on your AL return for the taxes paid to GA.
If your domicile is in GA for all of 2018 (meaning you actually moved there and aren't just living there temporarily), and you work all year only in GA, then for 2018 you would owe income tax only to GA.
If your domicile changes during the tax year (you actually move from one state to another), you'd have to file as a part-year resident in each of the two states.
You are required to change your license within 30 days of moving to GA.
