I live in Arkansas but work remotely for Alaska. I know that Alaska doesn’t have state tax. My W2 has Arkansas as my state and box 15&17 filled out, no box 16. What do I need to do?

Turbo tax will not let me complete my taxes without the state number. 100% of my income was in Alaska

Alaska does not have an income tax.  Leave boxes 15,16, & 17 BLANK, empty, no spaces.

I know Alaska doesn’t have state tax. But my W2 has box 15 and 17 filled out? Would I still complete the state tax section since I live in Arkansas?

Contact your employer and verify that Box 17 is Arkansas state tax withheld. They should be able to also tell you what should be in Box 16.

Most likely, Box 16 will be the same as Box 1.
